My Summer: Parker Lawrence

This summer, I am working as an intern for Gay Construction at Ponce City Market project between Ponce de Leon and North Avenue in Atlanta. Currently they have me helping with tracking their waste for the Construction Waste Management portion of their LEED goals. I have also been doing a lot of filing with RFIs and submittals, which can be summed up by the phrase, "loads of paperwork." I've been placed in charge of making a punchlist of items that need to be completed for the window restoration as well. With 55,000 panes of glass and 2.1 million square feet, I might be here awhile. On my off time, my dog Jase and I are enjoying training sessions and time spent at the lake.

"The Last Summer"

Hello everyone!

UGA's MHP program being two years long, and with most of us hoping to dive head-first into the working world the moment we graduate, many of us view the summer before our second year as our last long break.  Time to savor that sweet Georgia sunshine and watch the days roll by from the comfort of a shady porch, a cool glass of lemonade and a good book in hand?  No way!  Hopefully we'll all get a chance to unwind a bit, but many of us are still hard at work!  Check in for upcoming posts about our internships, travels, and research endeavors.  And don't forget to relax.
